Larry and Shelly Pearson opened the Pacific Cookie Company retail bakery in 1980 on the Pacific Garden Mall in Santa Cruz, California. Their dedication to top quality gourmet cookies, impeccable customer service and sparkling clean work and retail spaces brought the Pearson’s immediate success and a loyal cookie following. They expanded the business by delivering freshly baked cookies in many unique flavor combinations to retailers in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas.
The Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989 destroyed the company’s headquarters, the original retail store on the Pacific Garden Mall and damaged two other retails stores in Santa Cruz County. Larry and Shelly’s response was to open a large wholesale facility and expand the cookie business into foodservice distribution of frozen cookies and pre-portioned dough drops. Also, a key contract in 1990 with Alaska Airlines began a long relationship that enabled Pacific Cookie to survive and persevere despite the earthquake's impact.

Today the company has expanded its distribution of frozen products throughout the Western United States. Our customer base includes foodservice distributors, airlines, convenience stores, delis, corporate cafeterias, arenas, military bases, schools, hospitals and many establishments that prefer a quality cookie. Pacific Cookie still delivers freshly baked cookies daily on the Northern California coast and conducts a rapidly expanding internet - based gift business. Our retail store was relocated in 1994 to a space across the street from the original on the Pacific Garden Mall.
All these activities reflect the Pearson’s 25 year commitment to excellent gourmet cookies and superior customer service.
